Around this time last week, I was stuck in the house because there was a fucking blizzard.
Now it's 15 Celsius outside, no snow on the ground, and partially cloudy.
Fucked up weather is funny.

IN OTHER NEWS, I went down island with Chloe and Sable last week, as Chloe was having a tattoo touched up. Long story short, one of the tattoo artists was kind of a pervy guy (well, he talked about a bunch of pervy things, at least), and when his co-worker called him on it, he said, "I only say these things because I've never found anyone to do them with!" to which the guy he was tattooing replied, in sort of a shy-schoolgirl type of voice, "I will."
It was twice as funny because they were both burly guys.

But the other day the girls and I went shopping, because we needed formal attire because we are going on a motherfucking cruise in just one week! I am brimming with excitement! And excrement, but that's neither here nor there. Back to the point, we ended up looking in this store that sells clothes for fat chicks (it's called Addition-Elle, but I kept calling it "Come and Shop Here, Fatty McFatass" because I'm such a sensitive soul), because every other clothes store only seemed to sell clothing that would fit on children. Or Auschwitz victims.
I mean, holy shit, some of these pants I couldn't stick my arm through, they were so narrow! And I can never find a women's shirt that is long enough in the arms. Or has enough room upstairs. My twins need lots of living space, and normal shirts just don't provide!
I ended up not buying anything at Fatty McFatass's, because not only were the sizes XL, but the prices were too!

And as with any trip to the mall, it rekindled my hate for humanity. But it was funny, because I had no sleep the night before, so I was all grouchy and confrontational, so I spent half the time calling all these slutty chicks skanks and whores and shit. I was disappointed that they never tried to make something of it, because they were so fucking skinny I could have probably broken them in half with my bare hands. EL OH EL!

Fuck, I need sleep...

Eye hate

Right, so that pink eye I thought I had? Well, it turns out I was wrong on that front. I don't have pink eye, I have Iritis.

"And just what is that?" I can all but hear you asking. Iritis is essentially arthritis of the iris, and what that boils down to is that my iris is inflamed.

My iris is inflamed.

And usually people tend to get this shit when they have arthritis in other places on their body, but then the opthamologist says that sometimes people will just get Iritis for no fucking reason. It was at that point I literally felt my face form the >:| expression. Except my left eye was all bloodshot and watery. So pretty.

Anyway, I'm on drugs now, so at least I no longer look like Itachi "emo tears of BLOOD when he uses Amaterasu" Uchiha, which is really a good thing, because emo tears of blood are just about that last thing I want to shed.

The blood of the children banging on my mutherfucking walls on the other hand... Have I mentioned before how much I loathe children? Because I really do. Loathe them. With all my heart.

Huh. My virus scanner just popped up with a message that said, "Test cannot be started because it already does not exist."

ANYWAY, back to the topic, my wonderful happy great FUN TIME EYE CONDITION that is totally the greatest thing that ever happened to me!!! Lies, lies, lies.

Those drugs that I said I was on? Well, they're eye drops. I don't really handle forgine objects going onto my eye very well.

Sure, Trev calls me a hypocrite, because I frequently freak him out by touching my bare eyeball, but that is completely different from the eye drops! At least I know where that finger comes from, and exactly what it'll do to my eyeball when it comes in contact with it! I just don't like things that are not attached to me touching my eyeball, alright?

Oh, but epic lulz were had at his expense, thanks to Brawl! Firstly, I completely thrashed him as King Dedede while I was Pikachu. Now, this isn't very lol worthy, but the fact that I was playing with a Wiimote instead of my usual Gamecube controller, had only one eye open because the other was fucking inflamed, and wasn't even wearing my glasses (which meant that anything that wasn't within a foot and a half of me lost all detail) is cause for much laughter. Even better was his excuse that he wasn't used to playing as Dedede. And when I pointed it out that I couldn't really see the game, and yet still beat him, my mom laughed at him. That made my night XD

And the second humiliation of Trevor came just last night! In order to clear the "get 400 or more combos in Training" challenge, I built a stage with little C-shaped nooks into which I could corner a character and attack them with rapid punch characters like Sheik and Kirby. I told Trev about this stage, so he asked to fight me on it. So we go there with our best characters (Sheik for me and Sonic for him), and I proceed to get him into a corner and rapid punch his damage all the way up to 999%. And let me just say that that took a couple of minutes, and I spent those minutes laughing and not looking at the screen while he tried pretty much everything to escape my onslaught. He only managed to escape because I backed off, and that was so I could launch him off the screen. The next humiliation in that round came when I KO'd him by using Sheik's Vanish on the same day that the Smash Dojo said, "There’s something really intolerable about getting KO’d by this move."
And then I pissed him off even more when I kept evading his grab and throw attempts and KO'd him three more times while laughing like a twelve year old girl on crack.

Being a horrible person can be so much fun!

The weather outside isn't THAT frightful...

So, um, it snowed the other day. Not a lot, mind, but there was enough to cover the ground white. And unlike eastern Canada, which has been getting blizzards dumping literal meters of snow, out west on Vancouver Island we got maybe two inches. At the very most. And it was the type of snow that, while it did stick to the ground, it was pretty much washed away by the rain within 24 hours.

AND YET! When Dad and I stopped off at work briefly, to drop off a case of paper, one of his co-workers says to us, "Boy, I was sure glad I had my Hummer this morning!"

For the negligible amount of snow!?! I'm sorry, but six cemeteries of snow is not anywhere near enough to stop a freaking Vespa, let alone a bloody Hummer! Hell, think of the absolute shittiest beater car you can imagine, the type of car that's being held together by duct tape and hope, and know that it would have had no more trouble driving through the snow the other day then it would have while driving on a rainy day.

And that co-worker was hardly the only person we heard whining about the weather. Just the most offencive.

Stop complaining about the weather, you tossers! It isn't that bad!





Also, I think I caught a case of pink eye, and that completely makes my fucking week.

Of illness, Brawl and Zelda pet peeves

Hey! Guess what? I've got the fucking flu! Isn't that grand? I just love how my head feels like it's been injected with expanding foam, and that it's going to pop at any moment, and how I'm not so much talking as croaking, what with all the larynx-ripping coughing I've been doing! So much fun!

And thus ends the sarcasm.

The only upside to this has been that I've had plenty of time to play Brawl, and oh my piss, that game is more fun than should be allowed! The Subspace Emissary was pure fan service, and it's never tasted sweeter. Let's just say that if this game was a man, I would marry him. Hell, if this game was a woman, I would her! My love for this game transcends pretty much everything.

In lieu of a segue, I'm going to cut straight to my third topic for this post, my Zelda pet peeves. Well, they're more fandom pet peeves than game pet peeves, but let's begin, shall we?

First and foremost, there's the ongoing debate as to Sheik's gender. The three sides of this debate consist of the ones who think Sheik is a girl because Zelda is a girl, the ones who think Zelda used magic to give herself a male body, and those who think that Sheik is an entity connected to, but separate from Zelda. There are also the yaoi fans who want Sheik to be a boy, just so he can have hot buttsecks with Link, but I can't really comprehend the whole "yaoi" thing, so I'm not even going to bother going into it. Let's just call it a subset of the Sheik = Boy option.

Anyway, while I believe that Sheik's a girl, I'm also fine with the Sheik is Zelda in a boy's body option. However, when people start saying that Sheik is an entirely separate entity from Zelda, that irks me to no end. The reason it bothers me so is because it seems like an attack on Zelda's character. It's as though these people are saying that, no, Zelda couldn't have done all the things Sheik did. She couldn't have spent seven years hiding in plain sight, fighting evils as a blue-clad ninja. She couldn't have managed to save Ruto on her own, or follow Link all over Hyrule, or fight monsters in wells, or any of that. She wasn't good or strong or brave or male enough to do all that, so it must have been a guy controlling her! And as a woman, this thought both annoys and angers me.

My second fandom pet peeve is also about Sheik. Well, the Sheikah, to be specific. I just find it annoying how when people create their Sheikah OCs, they always end up putting them in an outfit that looks exactly like Sheik's. Come on, people, be a little more creative! Impa's outfit didn't look like Sheik's, now did it? And they weren't the same colour, now were they? There's a whole rainbow out there! Try something new!

It also bothers me when these Sheikah OCs have eyes that are another colour than red, given that the only three people who have been confirmed as Sheikah, or Sheikah descended, all have red eyes (and by that I refer to Impa, Sheik, and Impaz). I mean, why would Zelda bother changing her eye colour if that wasn't the case? She isn't the only blond haired, blue eyed person in Hyrule, now is she?

(And while this isn't so much a pet peeve as a simple belief, I like to think that when Sheik transformed back into Zelda at the end of OoT, she actually magicked her skin tone from tan to pale, instead of the other way around. This is because in WW, Tetra was just as dark as Sheik was, so I figure that when she gets enough sun, Zelda tans fairly easily. Unfortunately, running a kingdom doesn't leave much time for tanning XD )

And lastly, an actual game pet peeve! Why are all the water/ice dungeons in the Zelda series so very hard/annoying? If there is some sort of logic to this, please let me know >.o

This is a very beautiful and triumphant rendition of this song. As I said before, orchestras make everything better! Haha, not that this song sucked to begin with!

Hm, I have a sudden urge to go punch Gary in the face, that smug prick. No wait, not Gary, the company that’s currently dubbing Pokémon. Those voices are terrible!

Starting off kind of slow, but there we go! Speeding up! This song always makes me want to run around while screaming, “PEW PEW PEW!!” and pretending to shoot lasers at people!

The starting off scary and then turning wholesome things that this song does makes me happy XD

W13 - Icicle Mountain - Super Smash Bros. Melee
This song makes me happy, for reasons that I cannot explain. Maybe it’s thinking about polar bears in sunglasses and pink shorts that does it? I don’t know, but this song always makes me smile!

When I first heard this song, I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it, but now that I’ve been subjected to it for seven(!) years, I’ve found that it’s grown on me :P

Like with Icicle Mountain, this one always brings a grin to my face. And how can it not? It’s such a bouncy tune! Well, aren’t you a cheerful little song! I’m going to not bother with Wikipedia and just assume than this comes from a puzzle game. It’s got a puzzle game feel to it.

I’m really fond of what this and other songs for Brawl have done, in that they have the song played with actually instruments, but they’ll throw in some of the 8 bit noises and chords from the original game. It’s vary nostalgic, even if I’ve never played the game XD

Hey! Don’t you give me any lip! Yes, I should be slapped for that joke. And I probably will be. This, however, is quite an uplifting sounding song. It’s mostly synthesized, but there’s an acoustic guitar in there, and I’m fairly sure the drums are real too. It’s quite nice, altogether.

Okay, now this most definitely reminds me of Virtual-On! Which is appropriate for this song, as it comes from a mech game, and Virtual-On is also a mech game. You know what else is a mech game? Marionation Gear! Go freaking figure, eh?

It sounds as though a child is trying to become a bugle, or a bugle is learning human speech. Either way, the end results are frightening... Not that the song is bad or anything, but the idea of children honking and horns speaking kind of wigs me out!

Ooh! Steel drums! This song’s rather adorable, in an odd way. Maybe it’s the inheriting cuteness in actual hedgehogs that have somehow passed through the game and into the song? Because honestly, Sonic looks nothing like a hedgehog. After all, they are nether blue nor fast. I think the main inspiration behind the Sonic, nay, ALL games, is psychotropic drugs.

No! Leave Duo alone! That better not be him screaming! This is reminds me of racing game music. Serious racing game music, with drama and stuff! Actually, I think I’ve heard a small dog make a bark that sounded like that yelling...

F09 - Forest / Nature Area - Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Hm, maybe it’s just my copy of the song, but this sounds rather low quality, like somebody just held a mic to the speaker on a Gameboy to record it. The song itself I like, but the low quality is confusing me O_o

F10 - Checker Knights - Kirby Air Ride
OH! EM! GEE! HEEEEEEE! I LOVE THIS SONG! That’s all I have to say, because I’m too busy enjoying this to write!

F11 - Frozen Hillside - Kirby Air Ride
Hehe, I’m not sure why, but it sort of reminds me of the Gerudo Desert! Well, in the beginning it did, now it kind of sounds like Christmas music. Probably the jingle bells that do that. Hey! But they had the Doctor Who dashy, PEW PEW PEW sound again!

F12 - Squeak Battle - Kirby: Squeak Squad
Hah, squeak is a funny word! But the song is more rock than squeak! And now it’s reminding me of Daft Punk! Oh! There were some squeaks! Okay, it’s a squeak song :P


G01 - Main Theme - Star Fox
Oh! Now this sounds grand! Very epic, space fleet stuff. Of course, it also sounds like epic ocean fleet stuff too. You ever notice that music for space things and sea things sound similar sometimes? Like most of the opening music for the various Star Treks? With the exception of the original Star Trek and Enterprise themes, you could play the others to images of ships moving at speed and the songs would fit. The same goes for this one. I like that!

G02 - Corneria - Star Fox
Now this is more space than ocean! Quite futurey. Hehe, the speed of it reminds me of racing game music. I don’t think I’m going to play this one when I’m in the car, because I might start going over the speed limit XD

G03 - Main Theme - Star Fox 64
Ooh! This is snazzy! I like this sci-fi synth stuff! I also love the tune to this one, as it’s very heroic sounding. Haha, and now it’s put me in the mind of Buck Rodgers!

G04 - Area 6 - Star Fox 64
Hm, this one sounds neat too! And familiar, though I’ve yet to play Star Fox 64 yet. Because I’m a procrastinator extraordinaire! Hah, but I recognise it from all the times my brother’s played the game. Wanker, shove off and let me have a go at it!

G05 - Star Wolf - Star Fox 64
Ah, the rival’s theme! I like it! It does sound suitably rivaly. Like something you’d play for a skilled yet smug bastard. The kind of guy you sort of admire, but your like of him is dulled by the incredible urge to punch him in the face every time you see him. Or, if the slashers have their way, the face punching will be replaced by butt sexing. Oh yes.

G07 - Space Battleground - Star Fox: Assault
Dramatic flutes! Dramatic violins! Dramatic drums! This is a dramatic song! Well, I suppose with a name like Space Battleground, it would have to be. This sounds like a song that’ll get shit done. And done by an orchestra too, which is fantastic!

G08 - Break Through the Icefield - Star Fox: Assault
I like this one! Reminds me of a movie soundtrack again. Well, the soundtrack for older movies. Ones that actually used orchestras instead of just rap and pop music that half the shows seem to use these days. Damn it movies, start using actual music again! *slaps the movie industry*

G09 - Star Wolf - Star Fox: Assault
I’m really starting to dig this song. And that horn is sounding quite Spanish to me. Makes me think of tango or flamenco dancing. I can’t be sure, as I’m not exactly an expert on those kinds of dances. But I like their dances!

G10 - Space Armada - Star Fox
I like the harp in this. I can’t say for sure, but I think it’s the only non-digital instrument in this arrangement. I could be wrong though. Oh well, it sounds nice, none the less. Hehe, I want me a spaceship!

G11 - Area 6 Ver.2 - Star Fox 64
Hehe, now it sounds cute! More Kirby than Fox, to be honest. Or maybe Kirby as Fox? Damn it Kirby! Why much you be so freaking cute all the time? You and Yoshi, you’re going to make me diabetic just by looking at you!


H01 - Pokémon Main Theme - Pokémon
Oh man, now this brings back memories! Pokémon Blue was the first game I ever bought. I even got a matching blue Gameboy Pocket to go with it. Hehe, I like this fancied up version of the song. Makes me squee!

H02 - Pokémon Center Theme - Pokémon
Oh frig, this one is making me tear up! That was kind of unexpected! Haha, maybe I’m actually emo, and these are the tears of my inner anguish! WHY DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND ME??? HEEEEEEE!! Yeah, I think I’m too hyper to be emo. This song is just too happy to be emo to XD

H03 - Route 1/Viridian City - Pokémon
Hehe, now it sounds like a march! Well, I suppose that could be appropriate, as a jaunty march would get you to Viridian city faster. Ooh! Now it’s even jauntier! I’m on the road to Viridian City! Well, and here I am! Hurray!

H04 - Pokémon Gym/Evolution - Pokémon
Yes! Time to get some Badges! Oh song! Oh triumphant you sound! Could it be because you know I’m going to kick some Gym Leader ass? What? Your song is evolving! Congratulations! Your song evolved back into the Gym theme! Yay for cyclical songs!

H05 - Wild Pokémon Battle! - Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire
These songs sound so much better when they’re given more musical power than a Gameboy can provide. I wish they had been played by an actual, live symphony, but this is still good. Still grand!

H06 - Elite 4 Building - Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire
My, how rocky you’ve become! Grooves will be gotten on by this song! Oh ho ho! I love this song! It makes me want to go wipe the floor with the Elite 4 again! Come on you jerks, this Amulet Coin means I get double the money! Mamma needs herself some new items!

H07 - Wild Pokémon Battle! - Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
Heh, I like how this one starts off rather sinister! Catching Pokémon is evil now! MUAH HA HA! Well, probably not, but let me have my delusions, m’kay?

H08 - Dialga/Palkia Battle!/Spear Pillar - Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
Hm, for a battle song, this sounds rather peaceful. Oh, wait, the tension is building! Yes! More horns! Hehe, dramatic drums! A sinister wind blows!

H09 - Team Galactic Battle! - Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
Ooh, spacey! And now it’s got a groovy organ! If Team Rocket was lacking anything, it was a groovy organ! Hm, but it looks as though the Team Rocket base theme was left out of this game. That’s too bad, that was my favourite song from the game! Oh well, these ones are pretty good too :P

H10 - Route 209 (Night) - Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
This kind of sounds like ending music. Nice, peaceful night music. I quite like this, especially because of the almost 80’s sci-fi thing it’s got going for it. And the marching drums, I like those!


I01 - Mute City - F-Zero
Hm, start out slow, but building. But into what? Into rock, that’s what! Hehe, this is definitely one of my favourite tunes from the game! Very racy! Racy as in races though, not as in controversial. Though it would be cool if it was controversial too!

I02 - White Land - F-Zero
I assume the White Land means that it’s snowy, because this is starting out like it would be used for an icy track. Hehe, that guitar sounds neat! Sort of whiny, but not annoying whiny. Wow, I never thought I’d hear anything whiny and actually like it o_O

I03 - Fire Field - F-Zero
Ah, of course, the fire level to go with the ice level. Can’t seem to have one without the other, can you? Maybe they’re actually married, or it’s illegal to have one without the other? Probably not. I like the song, none the less. I like the guitar part in this one too, even thought it’s not whiny XD

I04 - Car Select - F-Zero X
Haha! Is that supposed to be death metal? Oh man, death metal, even this death metal light, always makes me laugh! I can’t listen to this with a straight face!

I05 - Dream Chaser ~Silence~ - F-Zero X
My oh my! But this does remind me of something you’d hear is a Sonic game! Probably because both are all about speed, and speedy games need speedy songs! And this certainly works on that front!

I06 - Devil's Call in Your Heart ~Devil's Forest~ - F-Zero X
Rock guitar! It’s like a prerequisite for racing games. Hee! And the death metal is back! It’s sort of like the opening for Dragon Ball Z! Dragon! Dragon! Rock the dragon! *cackles*

I07 - Climb Up! And Get The Last Chance! ~White Land~ - F-Zero X
The title of this song made me laugh milk through my nose. Thanks a lot, title of this song! Despite that messy incident, I like this song :P

I08 - Brain Cleaner ~Replay~ - F-Zero GX
Cue action movie theme! No, not action movie, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle! Smack my bitch up? Oh yes! I like how it sounds like there’s an alarm in this song. Hehe, a Red Alert remix!

I09 - Shotgun Kiss ~Vegas Palace/Casino Palace~ - F-Zero GX
First action movie, now this is definitely from a detective movie! Jazzy horns, and now some rock guitar. They sound surprisingly good together!

I10 - Planet Colours ~Green Plant~ - F-Zero GX
I want to say pinball. I swear I’ve seen a pinball machine somewhere that played a song similar to this. Crap, that’s going to bug the hell out of me now!


J02 - Fire Emblem Theme - Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light
Eee! I love this one too! Orchestra music is so much better with choral backup! Haha, I’m tearing up again! Oh hey! Now it kind of sounds like Conan! Oh my frig, I simply adore Basil Poledouris’s music!

J03 - Shadow Dragon Medley - Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light
Hehe, this sounds neat! If this is a theme for bad guys, then it’s rather failing in the evil department! Ooh, now it’s sped up! This part would sound so good on an organ! And now it is on organ! Sweet!

J04 - With Mila's Divine Protection (Celica Map 1) - Fire Emblem Gaiden
Horns and clapping! Spanish guitar and castanets! I’m suddenly getting Tuxedo Mask flashbacks. Now I want to throw roses at people...

J06 - Preparing to Advance - Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Well, it certainly sounds like something that would play for advancement preparation. I could just picture a montage going along to this song. Shit! Stop corrupting me, South Park! I know even Rocky had a montage! Stop putting that song in my head!

J07 - Winning Road ~Roy's Hope - Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals
This reminds me of something else. I want to say Star Fox. Or Star Wars. Now with the xylophone, I want to say American McGee’s Alice. Zelda maybe? I’m not sure, but I like it none the less :P

J08 - Attack - Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword
Hey! Somebody used this in a RM2K game I played a while ago! Hehe, good to know where things come from! I like the syntho violins, very early 90’s XD

J09 - Against the Dark Knight - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Haha, I’m so much of a Zelda fangirl that this reminded me of Ganondorf as soon as I heard it! Bwah! Suddenly it’s reminding me of some of the music from Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire! Yay for crossovers!

J10 - Crimean Army Sortie - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Now this sounds like shit is going down! Bad shit, of course, because invading armies are never good. Oh, the drama violin! The horns are too intense for you!

J11 - Powerhungry Fool - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Hell yes! A freaking harpsichord! I am definitely putting one of these in my horrible band! Oh, and now an assortment of strings! I can totally see Dracula playing a song like this, like ohmygod!

J12 - Victory Is Near - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Aw, so cheerful! The violins of happy endings are giving way to the horns of triumph! This song says things have gone well! YAY!

J13 - Ike's Theme - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Hm, sort of a melancholy military march. Cheer up, emo Ike! The dramatic trumped and drums means you’re going to win!

Musical Indulgence (part 1)

So Brawl is five days away, and to celebrate, I downloaded all 314 songs from the game.
Then I thought to myself, "Hey! Why don't I listen to all these songs, and then write little blurbs about them while I listen!"
And then I disreguarded my better judgement, and decided to go along with this plan anyway, so here I am, writing and listening away! Because I know you all value my opinion so much *eyeroll*

I'll be doing five sections a day (seeing as there are 24 sections, and only 5 days till Brawl's release), which should be something close to sixty-some-odd songs a day. Hoho, and according to my music player, those 314 songs together span 16 hours, 8 minutes and 38 seconds, and are taking up 1.10GB on my hard drive!

The track list I obtained from the Final Fantasy Shrine, and the songs, well, you can just google those :P

A01 - Ground Theme - Super Mario Bros.
Piano, bongos and a "wahh wahh" thing in the background. Sounds like something you'd hear in a resort while sipping cocktails. Now let us all be amused by the thought of Mario in a Hawaiian shirt!

A02 - Underground Theme - Super Mario Bros.
This has always been one of my favourite Mario melodies, and I really like the club-vibe they've got going for this rendition. Also, the dripping water in the background totally made my day XD

A03 - Underwater Theme - Super Mario Bros.
Hehe, it starts of sounding like the 8-bit version, and then swells into something that sounds like it should be played in a ballroom, before swinging around to sound like the Old West. For some reason, it reminds me of the Firefly episode "Shindig" O_o

A04 - Underground Theme ~Easton Kingdom~ - Super Mario Land
Oooh, evil, I like! Makes me think of an Arabic villain! Well, mostly Jafar from Aladdin... Is that dude shouting pain? Haha, and now it reminds me of the underwater parts in Metroid Prime! PAIN!

A05 - Airship Theme - Super Mario Bros. 3
Evil drums! And the evil grows! This one's rather panic inducing. PANIC ORGAN! In a perfect world it would have been played by Ray Manzarek. I have a sudden urge to attack people now...

A06 - Castle/Boss Fortress - Super Mario World/SMB3
It starts of kinda fast, but then it slows down into a slinky, sinister vibe. Very schemy. Oh, speeding up! And mellowing again. And speeding up again! It's an audio roller coaster ride of sneaky evil! *flails arms in the air*

A07 - Title/Ending - Super Mario World
This one... reminds me of the chicken dance! Oh, that part almost sounded like a polka! An easter polka. Oh man, now I want those Cadbury Cream Eggs! Are those out yet? Hah, accordions make everything French :P

A08 - Main Theme - New Super Mario Bros.
Reminds me a bit of elevator music. You know, if elevator music was nice to listen to, instead of maddening. Hah! My synthesizer can make those noises! *runs off to prod the synth*

A09 - Luigi's Mansion Theme - Luigi's Mansion
There is something inherently creepy about music boxes. Even hearing one in a non creepy setting, it still sounds creepy. And in comes the creepy brass section. AND THE SINISTER ORGAN accompanied by the chorus of DOOM! Now the piano's being scary. AND THE CREEPY MUSIC BOX IS BACK! Ironically enough, I just finished playing American McGee's Alice last week, and that has more creepy music box music than you can shake a stick at :P

A10 - Gritzy Desert - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
This makes me think of the music you'd hear for a travel commercial to Egypt. And now it sounds like the Tomb Raider movie. Chanting? No, clapping. The bongos are such fun instruments.

A13 - Delfino Plaza - Super Mario Sunshine
French! And now a jaunty guitar. Yes! More accordion! I love accordions more than I should. I want to go be pretentious at a cafe now. More fun bongos! Groovy man! *snaps fingers like a beatnik*

A14 - Ricco Harbor - Super Mario Sunshine
Definitely sounds like beach music. Hehe, sax on the beach! Is that a steel drum you're tempting us with? I kinda like that syntho-electric guitar XD

A15 - Bob-Omb Battlefield - Super Mario 64
Despite the title, this is a decidedly chipper song. It also reminds me of a musical number, for some reason. Mostly Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet", not so much for the tune, but for the spontaneous dance numbers this song should instigate :P

A16 - Ground Theme Ver.2 - Super Mario Bros.
I say, I like all the weird instruments they're using here. Cheerful, but also kind of insane. Oh, but now we've got some ballroom stuff thrown in for good measure. Dana nana nana! Hehe, yes, get on that flag pole!

A17 - Mario Bros. - Mario Bros.
Oh bother, where is the beginning of this song from? Aw, but now it's all bouncy and dreamy and stuff! Hehe! More classical music! Where is that from?! I'm so terrible with names >_<

A20 - Mario Circuit - Super Mario Kart
Menu screen. That was the first thing that came to mind. Hehe, I'd expect to here this in a mall somewhere. Probably at a sale XD

A21 - Luigi Circuit - Mario Kart 64
Ooh, now this one has some bounce! Sounds like a laid-back, fun kind of race music, the kind that's more concerned with the driving part, and less with the winning. Oh, but now it's getting louder. A WINNER MUST BE DECIDED! Vroom!

A22 - Waluigi Pinball - Mario Kart DS
Now this sounds more like race music! Hee, I like that tune! I'd dance to it, hah, even though I can't dance. I'd request it at a techno club. Boiong!

A23 - Rainbow Road - Mario Kart Double Dash!!
Soap Operas at the races! Haha, even when synthesized, I still like the organ. Hell, I could say that about pretty much any instrument (if it's used correctly).


B01 - Jungle Level - Donkey Kong Country
Drums + chanting = win! Oh yes, bring on that jazzy vibe! Damn it, I want to slap a zoot suit on DK now! Sinister jungle is sinister! More Ray Manzarek organ stuff. ACTION MOVIE SOUNDTRACK! Also, that screamy sax in the background makes me giggle maniacally.

B02 - The Map Page/Bonus Level - Donkey Kong Country
Yes, that is a fun bass! The piano sounds weird, but in a good way. Hehe, panpipes! This would be a fun road trip song :D

B03 - Opening - Donkey Kong
Oh man, my mom has Donkey Kong for the GBA, and she plays it just about every day, so I was figuring I'd be sick of this tune by now, but surprise surprise! This one sounds different enough to not warrant madness! Hurray!

B04 - Donkey Kong - Donkey Kong
I want to do the robot to this so bad. Damn, I need to learn how to dance like that! I like how it's new music, but with the original game sounds mixed in. If I ever open my own dance club, I'm going to have this song played there!

B05 - King K.Rool/Ship Deck 2 - Donkey Kong Country
Yarr! I love this jaunty pirate tune so much! Ooh, but now it's rocking out! Even better! I'd head bang, but that gives me a headache. Eeee, bouncy part! And more accordions! I love this song!

B06 - Bramble Blast - Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
It's starting off like the beginning of a boy band song... Ah, but the guitar came and made it a Western song! And the violin only compounds that! It's almost making me think of Christmas? Ooh, but this bit sounds quite wintery, so I guess the Christmas thing could work? It's like a genre mash-up, but I find I like it :D

B07 - Battle for Storm Hill - Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Hee! A march! And it swells! I would like to pillage on horseback to this song! Oh, but this parts kinda peaceful... No, more valiant marching is back! Onward to victory!

B08 - Jungle Level Ver. 2 - Donkey Kong Country
Yay for birds and other jungle ambiance! Yes, bring on the drums! The sound of the drums... I wonder if this was what the Master kept hearing? Probably not, because if he kept hearing this groovy song, he wouldn't have turned out evil! Well, okay, this part's a bit evil, but in a good way! Is that even possible?

B09 - 25m Theme - Donkey Kong
It's... just the original DK music. Looped. Hm, that was short.

B10 - DK Jungle 1 Theme - Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
Ah! This is livelier! The Kongs must live in the swingin'ist jungle ever? How can you be so grouchy, Cranky Kong, when your jungle is so hip? I swear, some old people just go out of their way to be miserable. If this is what my jungle sounded like, I'd be perkier than a cheerleader! Also, ew.


C01 - Title - The Legend of Zelda
Oh my god! Ohmygod! GLEE! This sounds so good! I'm tearing up! Hee, the choral bits remind me of the baby Ohmu flashback parts from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Yes, more sinister violin! MORE SINISTER ORGAN! Hah, flashback to Ganondorf playing his in Ocarin of Time! I don't think it's possible for this song to sound bad! *fangirl scream*

C02 - Main Theme - The Legend of Zelda
YES!!! Hee, I love an orchestra arrangement! I wish we would have played songs like this in band, because holy crap! SO GOOD! Haha, I need to stop caps locking. BUT THE SONG IS SO GOOD THAT I DON'T WANT TO! XD

C03 - Great Temple/Temple - The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Haha, instead of Zelda being the first thing to come to mind upon hearing this song, the first thing I thought of was the game Sailor Moon: Another Story. Woah! And that zappy noise thing makes me think of Doctor Who! Oh my piss! If Zelda, Sailor Moon and Doctor Who combined, that would become a Voltron made of awesome and win! Well, three fifths of Voltron. Metroid and Firefly can make up the rest :D

C04 - The Dark World - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
I like the twistedness of this! Everything sounds kind of vibratey, and not of this world, which is appropriate. Haha, but they still manage to throw in a French accordion! I really do love that background guitar!

C05 - Hidden Mountain & Forest - The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Oooooh, exotic! Flamenco dancing! Probably not, but it reminds me of that. This sounds like the background music that would play if Smash Bros. was a dancing competition rather than a fighting game. And if the codec cutscene is accurate, then Snake would totally try to get in Samus' pants XD

C07 - Tal Tal Heights - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
This is the Zelda theme, by way of F-Zero racing. Very fast song, I like it! And is it just me, or does that not sound like Sonic revving up his wee hedgehog legs and racing throughout the song? This song makes me want to drive at excessive speeds! HEEEEEE!

C08 - Hyrule Field Theme - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Haha, this is nostalgia in audio form! Brings me right back to playing Ocarina of Time for the first time! Ah, memories ^_^

C09 - Ocarina of Time Medley (Zelda's Lullaby, Sun's Song, Song of Storms, Epona's Song, Song of Time, Saria's Song) - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
I've always thought of Zelda's Lullaby as a slightly sad song, but that warm acoustic guitar and flute really bring the joy. Heh, Sun's Song is a segue! And cheerful Song of Storms becomes wonderfully less cheerful! Damn it, Epona's song is making me cry with joy again! Bad Epona's Song! Stop swelling with heartfelt emotions! Song of Time sounds as dignified as always, but Saria's song has become surprisingly bad ass! Heee, I love medleys!

C10 - Song of Storms (Windmill, Ganonorf's Theme, Serenade of Water) - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
MENACE! There's the cheerful Song of Storms we know! Accordion! Flutes and drama! Synth guitar! YES! Ganny's theme is really working the drums! Oh, and Serenade of Water is still so pretty! Again, I love medleys!

C11 - Molgera Battle - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Chick a ta! Chick a ta! Chick a ta! Haha, this was one of my favourite Wind Waker songs, so I'm glad it got in to Brawl. I love how minimalistic it is in places, and then builds into something more. And now I want to go beat the crap out of Molgera again XD

C12 - Restored Village of the Blue Maiden - The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Restored Village? Heck no! This sounds more like the alternate song that would play when Link uses the Bremen Mask! Can't you just seem him herding chicks to this song? Because I sure can! *creepy laugh*

C13 - Gerudo Valley - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
I love this song. Love, love, LOVE this song! It makes me want to go wandering into the desert! But then I remember that I can't stand the heat, or the excessive sunlight, or the lack of water and food and greenery, so I just go a replay Ocarina of Time instead :P

C14 - Termina Field Theme - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Chirpy chirp! Lovely day for the moon to DESTROY YOU ALL! Such a happy song when doom is literally (albeit slowly) descending from the heavens. It does get a little scary in the middle, but then it marches itself back up to perky again. You know, I think the whole land of Termina is bipolar :/

C15 - Dragon Roost Island - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Now this was my favourite tune from Wind Waker! I love how South American it sounds. Hehe, I probably love it so much because of the panpipes. Like accordions and organs, I have a thing for panpipes. I also have a thing for the bagpipes and the didgeridoo. If I ever started a band, and we played those instruments, we would sound terrible no matter how good we played x_x

C16 - The Great Sea - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Hehe, I love this one too. It really captures the feeling of being at sea. Tides ebbing and flowing, ships running at speed, waves crashing over the bow and creamy wake ribboning behind you... *sigh* I love the sea!

C17 - Main Theme - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Suitably heroic for our heroic new Link! Not that he wasn't heroic to begin with, in any of his incarnations. Hee, I spent half my time in Twilight Princess just riding around in the fields and attacking things on horseback. YES, MY PRETTY HORSEY! TRAMPLE THEM UNDER YOUR HOOVES! KILL THEM ALL!! BWAHAHAHA!!

C18 - Hidden Village - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The fact that it's called the Hidden Village, and that it was started by Impa, a Sheikah, a race who are pretty ninja-like, makes me think of Naruto. The song that goes with the village, however, makes me think of Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone and the fantastic Spaghetti Westerns they made! And that, in turn, makes me think of Kill Bill.

C19 - Midna's Desperate Hour - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Oh Midna! Don't die! Mournful piano is very mournful! To be kind of a heartless bitch, I did like it how when Midna was on the brink of death, her colours were inverted. That made me happy despite the music, which was making me cry. BIPOLAR! HURRAH!


D01 - Main Theme (Brinstar, with voice) - Metroid/Metroid Prime Pinball
Er, that voice is kinda scary... but hey! Metroid rocks out! Hehe, the song always kinda let itself to rock. And goodness me! Is that boss music from Corruption? Hehe! Original Metroid! More of that boss guitar music! I want to say Rundus, but I'm not 100% on it. NO WAIT!! That was for Dark Samus! Just has a flashback to finally killing that bitch! Hehe!

D02 - Norfair - Metroid
Norfair has such a mellow theme... but suddenly it's become oh so danceable! This one is definately going into my club that will never exist! *gets her groove on*

D03 - Ending - Metroid
Mission Complete! GASP! SAMUS IS A WOMAN! Yes, losers, how'd you like an Ice Missle to the face?! Hehe, anger issues! Hm, and hyperness. HEY! I'VE ENTERED HYPERMODE! Screw you dangerous Phazon! I don't need you! What's that? 100% completion rate? Oh yes, I am good! *screams*

D04 - Vs. Ridley - Super Metroid
Ridley, you son of a bitch! Come back here so I can shoot you in the mouth! This song really lends itself to violent acts, what with its intensity and rockitude. And aggressiveness is a good thing when you're dropping to the molten core of a planet while fighting off a large, purple dragon thing. Hee, I love that fight!

D05 - Theme of Samus Aran, Space Warrior - Super Metroid
Now this is the stuff of epic space operas! Needs an accordion, though. And an organ. But triumphant fanfare will suffice! Look out, Picard! Samus is here to save the galaxy!

D06 - Sector 1 - Metroid Fusion
Ah Fusion, the first Metroid game I bought and completed. What an obsession you have instilled in me! This fancy schmancy upgraded song certainly captures the trapped-in-a-station-with-hostile-lifeforms feel of the game. Ironically enough, I bought Fusion in a bundle pack with a GBA SP, to have something to ease the stress of working at a technical support call center. A word of advice to those looking for employment: If you can't stand rude and ignorant people, don't work for a call center. Nice people never phone for help.

D07 - Opening / Menu (with voice) - Metroid Prime
Apparently Zebes (which I'd always pronounced as "zeebs") is pronounced as "zeh-bus". And Aran, instead of being pronounced "ah-ran" sounds more like "Erin". Whatever, I'm still going to pronounce it my way. And while I'm doing that, I'm going to enjoy the deliciousley sci-fi Prime theme (with some more touches of Dark Samus rock guitar)! And I'm probably mistaken, but it sounds like one of the instruments they used was a theremin (another instrument I would add to my horrible, horrible band).

D08 - Vs. Parasite Queen - Metroid Prime
The first boss battle of Prime! Hehe, the Metroid creators sure have a thing about shooting bosses in the mouth! Reminds me of Alien, mostly because this plays as you're fighting against an alien. To me it sounds like the music you would play in a haunted house... IN SPACE!

D09 - Vs. Meta-Ridley - Metroid Prime
Hehe, more Ridley! Okay, Meta-Ridley. That bastard just doesn't want to die. He's worse than Dark Samus! I like how they cyberized up the regular old Ridley fight music for this particular fight, as this incarnation of Ridley is more machine than ma- er, dragon now. Hehe, fandom slip!

D10 - Multiplayer - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Fast paced and PEW PEW PEW!! Hehe, I pwned my brother so many times in the multiplayer for Echoes, so of course this song has plenty of fond memories for me. MEMORIES OF HUMILIATING DEFEAT FOR THE SIBLING! Much like the Ridley theme, there is an underlaying sense of aggression within the song, and that helps people pwn faster. Except, of course, if that person happens to be my brother, and he's playing against me XD


E01 - Ending - Yoshi's Story
Yoshi is so cute I could just puke! Well, not really, but he is very cute, much like this song! Yoshi! AND THE ACCORDION RETURNS! I missed you, little buddy! And I wonder, is he singing, "ee eh oh"? Damn it, you little egg-pooping dino thing! Stop being so freaking Cute! But I like the drums very much. Don't change those!

E02 - Obstacle Course - Yoshi's Island
Steel drums! Another instrument for my band of terror! Such a perky tune for such a perky instrument! But what's this? A menacing segment right in the middle? I like that! And more steel drums!

E03 - Yoshi's Island
This sounds like it should be the opening for some kind of family friendly kids show on the Disney Channel or something. Oh, but it's got a harmonica too! Another one for the band! I think the band name should be something including the words "ear bleeding," don't you?

E05 - Flower Garden - Yoshi Touch & Go
To quote Queen Beryl (in the dub), this is so sweet I'm getting cavities! Heh! But I really dig the recorder and whistling bits. And the numerous cartoon sound effects. Yeah, Yoshi would definitely be a Saturday morning cartoon.

E06 - Wildlands - Yoshi's Island DS
The Wild West, set in a jungle. A jungle that is in France. Along with being a cartoon, Yoshi would also be on some form of psychotropic drug. Actually, I think that's how a lot of the scenarios for Nintendo games came into fruition. And now we're having some Hawaiian bits too? Screw geography! Were right the hell in the middle of CRAZY LAND!!

E07 - Obstacle Course Ver.2 - Yoshi's Island
Aw, where did the steel drums go? Well, at least you kept the accordion. And added an organ! HURRAH! It may be a small organ, but it's how you use it that counts! Oh innuendo, I am your slave. For always.
